Helena, MT – Lewis and Clark County Public Works and Helena Sand and Gravel will conduct a pavement improvement project on a 1.4-mile section of Country Club Avenue in Helena from July 8 through July 19, 2024.

Beginning Monday, July 8, the road will be closed at Broadwater Avenue for bridge work at Tenmile Creek in preparation of the paving overlay project. During the closure, access to Country Club Avenue between Tenmile Creek and Williams Street will be local access and Archie Bray Foundation access only. Access east of the bridge to Green Meadow Country Club and Spring Meadow Lake State Park will be open. Travelers are encouraged to use Williams Street to access Fort Harrison and the Birdseye corridor. The bridge is expected to reopen by Friday, July 12, 2024.

Following the bridge preparation, Helena Sand and Gravel will begin paving overlay on Monday, July 15, 2024. The road will be open and reduced to one-lane traffic with a pilot car. Speeds will be reduced throughout the construction zone.

When traveling through the construction, please slow down, pay attention to workers, traffic signs and other motorists. Travelers should expect delays, allow for extra travel time, and use alternative routes when possible. The pavement overlay is expected to be completed by July 19, 2024.

The final chipseal, fog seal, and paint striping for the road is expected to take place in August 2024.
